2010 Spring Series Heat 4

FOLLOW THE LEADER
What started out as a drifter turned into a great days racing. Every boat had a go at the front and, at the back, with positions changing at every mark. Thankfully the wind freshened towards the middle of the race and it wasn't until the top mark for the final time that Hugh pulled away to win.

2010-2011 Season begins

The season started in perfect conditions on Sunday. "Shine" skippered by Rosie and crewed by Harry jumped out to a commanding lead in the first race of the afternoon only to be passed late in the race by David and Charlotte on "Saltwater" and Alex and Danii-elle on "chitty chitty bang bang".
In the second race "Saltwater" took the lead early and it wasnt untill right at the finish that "chitty" managed to squeak home. "Hairy Lemon" came a close 3rd.

2010 NSW NS14 Youth Series Heat1

Tim Dunstan and Christina Stewart on Dark Horse took out the first heat of the NSW Youth Series yesterday on a perfect sailing day at Connells Point. Alex Chittenden and Danii-elle Svendsen on chitty chitty bang bang managed to just beat home Mojo who had mainsail halyard problems, for 2nd.
Some people just dont like the mud at Connells Point while others cant get enough of Mr Wippy.

NS14 Association of NSW 2010-11 Calendar

Above is the calendar for the 2010-11 season. A couple of things to note this year:

  • The TTs, MTs and Sprints have been based around one weekend each rather than spread out. It is hoped that this will encourage everyone to go to everything – a result is achieved over the one weekend and travelling complications are reduced.
  • Note that the ACT Titles are a month earlier than previously. As the Nationals are in ACT this year the ACT Titles are a must practice session.
  • Also note that the CHS regatta is before Easter rather than immediately afterwards as is usual.
  • The NSW Youth Championships are on the long weekend in October (2nd/3rd) as is the Callala Bay regatta.
  • The coaching day is on 28th August
